I am a practicing artist originally from the Hokianga, Northland, and now call the small beach settlement of Kairaki/Pines Beach in North Canterbury my home.
My working life has been in the conservation field, protecting New Zealand’s unique biodiversity. I am a Conservation dog handler for the Department of Conservation; training and handling pest detection dogs for feral cats, rodents and mustelid detection.
I have been privileged to have my work take me to many of the in-shore and off-shore islands of New Zealand and Australia; and as far a field as Orkney in Northern Scotland, and South Georgia Island in the South Antlantic. It is exciting and challenging work that I enjoy, and in turn, provides endless inspiration for my artworks.
